Sunset Air just installed a new Carrier air source heat pump in our daughter and son-in-law's home in Steilacoom, WA, and it was an exceptional front-end sales and installation experience. Britton (sales / project manager) shared his detailed understanding of the technology and Sunset's product offerings in a friendly, understandable, straightforward, and non-salesy / not-pushy manner, which we really appreciated. He fielded our *many* questions over a period of *many* weeks in a patient, unflappable manner as we compared offerings from competing vendors. We could've opted for more expensive, arguably higher-end products (Mitsubishi) from other vendors, but for *significantly* more money (and a bit more pushiness on the sales side). After much web browsing and local research, we determined that Carrier offers excellent, reliable solutions, and that Sunset offers excellent, reliable installation services. Sunset also offers more affordable service plans, two years of annual servicing as part of the purchase cost, and 24/7 emergency service. The installation team (Cecil and Blaine) were a pleasure to work with as well. Smart, detail-focused, a perfect blend of professional and friendly, they made us feel highly confident in their capabilities and ability to provide a high-quality installation, a critical factor when installing air source heat pump systems in particular. We read and heard time and again that the installation is everything---that the best systems in the world won't function properly if not installed properly, and there are hundreds of details that go into that process. Cecil and Blaine gave us 100% confidence in their skillsets, experience, and ability to execute a high-quality installation plan. The Sunset Air electrician--whose name escapes me at this moment--was similarly friendly and professional, and carefully showed and explained his work when it was completed. Also a pleasure to work with. We're just one day out from the finished installation, but so far the system is working well. The Carrier air source heat pump operates surprisingly quietly, and its accompanying thermostat is easy to navigate. 100% satisfaction and five stars for Sunset Air and the team we worked with. We had our attic furnace replaced along with a water heater. Two separate surfaces. Let me just say, this should have been a 4-5 star rating, but sadly it's not. *Sales - Sales was great. Great communication, on time, explained everything, walked through financing, no major hiccups. No complaints. 5 stars. *Install - The install went smooth. Took a day of time for both items, the installers were friendly, did all they did timely, took care of the space. No issues. Explained everything well and did a nice wrap up. 5 stars. *Post install - This is where we've run into some hiccups. This is install completed early this year, April. Post QA checkup happened in April as well. There were some minor items to complete. Some minor dry wall repair and touch up painting. If this step never happened I would rate Sunset higher than 2 stars, but since April multiple follow ups, missed appointments, no shows, etc... I understand things happen, but no call/no show is a complete care for the customer's time. Taking off work early, taking time out of my day to make a day time appointment, etc... Even one time I can understand, but multiple times where I have to initiate a call after the appointment time passes to ask where the technician is, is well, pretty unacceptable. Especially knowing this is the person who makes the last impression on the customer. It's now September.... and I'm still waiting.  I 100% want to support a local business, but I would probably not use Sunset again, due to wasting hours of my time waiting to have the last 5% of total service complete. We had Sunset Air install our ChargePoint EV charger and they did a great job. We ended up needing a subpanel added, which I wasn’t originally expecting, but they explained everything and made the whole process really easy. The installer was friendly, knowledgeable, and did really clean work. Everything turned out great and everything has been working perfectly ever since. We just replaced our furnace/AC. With HVAC it's mostly about the quality of the installation. We like our Carrier equipment choice. We LOVE the installation! The whole Sunset team was great to work with. Zero problems. Cecil and Blaine finished things off and made double sure the job was done right. You should definitely check w. Sunset Air and have Britton come out to size things up. He's a very sensible, experienced expert in this field, low pressure, good detail, and he came out personally to check on site install, which is rare. Seriously, just call Sunset!

My husband and I have used SS Air for 15 years to service a unit they originally installed.  We just had to have a new unit installed and from Jesse coming out for an estimate,  to the installation guys, Devin, Jerry, Brett and Patrick, they were all great.
