Do I Need a New Ductless System?

Ductless systems can last a pretty long time, as long as you take care of them. However, they don’t last forever. If your ductless system doesn’t have enough life left in it to get you through this summer, it’s best that you be able to recognize the signs now. You don’t want to have it break down on you unexpectedly, and leave you without air conditioning in the middle of one of the hottest months on record. So let’s take a look at some of the signs that you need a new ductless system.

Higher Monthly Bills

Of course, your monthly bills are going to go up the more you use your ductless system. That’s not what we’re talking about here, however. As a ductless system ages, it will start to wear down more and more until its efficiency begins to decline. As this happens, the system will be forced to operate for longer periods of time in order to compensate. This will result in much higher monthly bills. If your operating costs are going up for no apparent reason, it may be that you need a new ductless system.

More Repair Costs

Normally, a ductless system shouldn’t need repairs more than once every handful of years. As the system ages, however, parts of it will start to fail in rapid succession from the years of wear and tear. If you need to repair your ductless system every few months, it’s probably much more cost-effective to simply replace it. After all, by repairing it that often all you’re really doing is replacing it one part at a time, anyway.
